The organizational and technical coordination of the international activity of the University is carried out by the International Relations Office. The International Relations Office:
- deals with the establishment and enhancement of cooperation with higher educational establishments around the world, diplomatic missions of foreign countries in the Republic of Belarus, international organizations;
- organizers and administers international business trips and exchange of teachers, students and staff;
- carries out reception of foreign delegations and visitors;
- delivers information seminars for students and teachers with regards to international academic programs and events;
- provides organizational support to other units of the University during international scientific and educational events at the University, etc.
- is the organizer of the International Law Competition “Youth for Peace”.
International activity of the University is carried out in accordance with the current legislation of the Republic of Belarus, University’s Statute and University’s Program of Innovative Development. International activity and expansion of international contacts is an important condition for the creation of an effective system of quality management which allows of meeting European educational standards.
In order to enter the international educational market and international educational arena, the University carries out the following tasks:
- development of cooperation with international organizations, educational establishments and diplomatic missions;
- implementation of international educational and research projects and programs; attraction of international investments;
- organization of international visits, internships, business trips for students, teachers and staff of the University; organization and conducting of international seminars, conferences and other events.
The University maintains a close relationship with higher education institutions around the world by implementing cooperation agreements with them. The network of international contacts of the University is constantly expanding. Currently, International University “MITSO” has 25 partner universities and other institutions of higher education.
International University “MITSO” is a member of the International Association of Educational and Scientific Institutions offering personnel training in the sphere of labour and social relations, comprised of 32 educational institutions from the CIS countries, Europe and Asia.
A bilateral agreement has been signed with the Italian Association of Logistics aimed at development of different projects in the sphere of logistics. Jointly with the Belarusian State University, A.S. Pushkin Brest State University and Gratz University (Austria), the University has participated in the international educational project “TEMPUS-TACIS” on the issue “Development of a new curriculum in the sphere of European economic law”.
The academic staff and senior students of the University regularly take part in the UN/UNDP development programme projects and projects launched by the World Bank office in the Republic of Belarus. The UN weeks are held at the University on a regular basis. In 2010 the University joined a global initiative, “Academic Impact”, which aligns institutions of higher education with the United Nations in actively supporting ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, literacy, sustainability and conflict resolution.
The International University “MITSO” is an organizer of well-known international conferences on logistics and international law. The University is famous for its International Law Competition “Youth for Peace” – the foremost annual student competition in international humanitarian law in East Europe which attracts and brings together student teams from around the world. In the previous six years the Competition has seen students from more than 30 countries. The participants compete in demonstrating their knowledge of international humanitarian law, international public law, human rights law and ability to adapt to and orient in the changing environment. Every year in autumn the University organizes an international scientific student festival “Youth Fest” which attracts students and teachers from the CIS countries, as well as students from other major institutions of higher education of the Republic of Belarus. The annual International Competition in Logistics for High-school and University Students is organized by the University in April and aims at enhancing students’ awareness about logistics, deepening their knowledge of logistics, and developing their creativity and research abilities.
