The publishing activity of the University is carried out by the Publishing Centre. The Publishing Centre’s activity involves a wide range of different activities, such as editing, formatting, making up and printing out scientific, educational, methodological and other materials. In accordance with the license № 02330/0552605 of 01.10.2009, the University is entitled to publish scientific, popular scientific, industrial and practical, information, advertising literature and study materials.
In 2007 the centre’s activity was mainly focused on publishing scientific and methodological materials that are necessary for teaching and training at humanitarian majors. Every year more than 50 items of educational literature are published with a total volume of more than 250 printed sheets. The number of the University’s printed materials is constantly increasing, and so does the capacity of the centre’s publishing activity. While in 2002, 25 scientific and educational items were published by the centre with the total volume of 13,923 printed sheets, in 2007 their number increased to 47 items with the total volume of 2,385 printed sheets. In the last 5 years, 29 collected articles and 8 monographs have been published by the University’s publishing centre.
An important part of the centre’s publishing activity is the edition of an academic journal “Labour. Trade Unions. Society” (published since 2003). The journal is included by the Higher Attestation Commission (HAC) into the list of scientific publications of the Republic of Belarus that are authorized to publish the results of dissertation research in history, political science, sociology, economics and law. In 2007, the journal was awarded the first prize in the nomination “The Best Scientific and Popular Scientific Journal” at the 3rd National Contest of Printed Media “Golden Letter”.
