Student Life
The University pays great attention to the development of students’ artistic skills and creativity. There are vocal studios, dancing groups, a theatre studio, a music band and other student groups working at the University. Every year a big event dedicated to the International Student Day is held at the institute – “Go freshman!” student competition among 1st year students of the University (including Vitebsk and Gomel branches) who show their amateur performances. Moreover, every year the University organizes the festival of ballad songs with the participation of famous Belarusian bard singers, a beauty contest “Miss MITSO”, a law faculty’s event “Law Faculty Medium Awards”, a New Year’s festival, as well as other festivals and events dedicated to memorable dates.
The PT Department actively promotes health and fitness activities. The University has its own sports hall and gym, as well as an open sports ground. Students participate in volleyball, basketball, five-a-side, table tennis and aerobics clubs. The University organizes different sports championships and competitions, hiking tours, students’ visits to the equestrian sports centre, “Ratomka”, and to the sports centre, “Water-slalom Channel”. Our students are the participants and prize-winners of famous international and republican sports competitions. Particularly, cheerleading is popular among the University’s students. In April 2008, the MITSO cheerleading team took the third prize in the cheerleading championship of the Republic of Belarus.
